Employee Spotlight: Sasha Pokras, CAD Designer

Sasha has been with Brooker Engineering for 15 years and her areas of expertise range far beyond her job title of CAD designer. Her calm demeanor and get-it-done attitude make her a huge asset to the success of the company.

 

In her own words: 

What do you enjoy most about working at Brooker?

There is a genuine spirit of cooperation and shared goals.

I love that I have a great degree of control and freedom within my job. I work full-time on a flexible schedule, and my boss trusts me to produce high-quality work and results. I work hard to maintain that level of trust, which keeps me engaged and excited — but at the same time, I appreciate that my job enables me the time to enjoy my other passions in life. There is satisfaction in feeling a sense of accomplishment when I am up against a deadline. I’m encouraged to excel by having a boss that appreciates the work I do.

 

What are your interests/hobbies outside of work?

Travel, food :), skiing, hiking, biking (or just being outdoors), spending time with friends and family.  

 

Employee Spotlight: John “Buzz” Bezuyen, PLS

Did you know that there is much more to Brooker Engineering than just engineering?  One of the many services we offer is Land Surveying in NY and NJ, and the person who keeps this very busy department running is John “Buzz” Bezuyen. Buzz has been with the company for over 12 years. His personal commitment to quality and dedication to the job makes him an integral, and outstanding, employee.

 

In his own words: 

State your job description:  I am the director of the Surveying Department. 

What do you enjoy most about working at Brooker?  My favorite thing about working here is the friendly atmosphere. 

What are your interests/hobbies outside of work? My interest outside of work is my two grandchildren. I enjoy working on model trains, which my grandchildren love to help with. 

In The News: Cropsey Community Farm

This month, Brooker Engineering was involved in a project close to home in Rockland County, providing a structural engineering evaluation of the barn at Cropsey Community Farm, which dates back to the Revolutionary War Era. Team Brooker at Relay for Life of Ramsey

On June 5, 2015, Brooker Engineering, PLLC participated as a team in the Ramsey Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. After several months, the team raised a total of $2,310 to benefit the fight against cancer. Our slogan was, “Building awareness, support, and hope!” Thank you to all that donated. We had a great time and are looking forward to participating again next year!

A Glimpse Into Our Future

The scaffolding and overhead protection over the sidewalk to our new office building has been removed! If you happen to be in town or near 74 Lafayette Ave soon, stop by and take a look at the progress. The anticipation and excitement to move into our new home are greater than ever.
